#029 – Turn 10

Posted by jaynoon on December 22, 2009 – 10:32 pm

The last of the older episodes (we have one more “other” episode though before we relaunch).

We welcome Dan Tunnell from Turn 10 to talk about his work on Forza Motorsport 3. Dan gives some great insight into the development of a world-class racing game.

Thanks for answering my questions on your show.
But what I was trying to ask is:

Will Microsoft ever force publishers and / or developers to put, as an obligation, subtitles in their games ?

Cause just as an example, I had my GTA 4 gaming experience ruind cause I had to sit on the sofa translating every line of the dialog for lovely wife :D as she played this briliant game and had fun.

    Isn’t life sad :(
Well… but it was a great family time non the less ;-)

    Happy new year everone!

Just wanted to say thanks again for the awesome episode. I particularly enjoyed all the tech details around what your guest does for Turn 10 – being a release engineer it’s neat to hear about interesting process improvement and test automation goodies in the games industry :)

(Doing build and test automation for the health care industry – decidedly less sexy, but it pays the bills :)

I’m a little backed up on episodes, so maybe this has been discussed, but to the hosts, are there any plans to play with the fans of the show, the Platform Biased gamer tag is rarely online. Just a hopeful fan waiting to play, love the show
