Episode fo’ty (says Chris).
We’ve been playing Red Dead Redemption, Alan Wake, Limbo, Death Smiles, Death Smiles II X, Crackdown 2 & Game Room.
We cover a bunch of Crackdown 2 achievement tips, go over new hardware (Kinect, Kinect Bundle, Xbox 360 S & Reach Special Edition console).
Some chatter about the unique multiplayer design in Kane & Lynch, Plants vs. Zombies on XBLA, and the Dead Rising 2 collector’s edition.
Questions from Listeners:
- What’s it like testing Kinect titles?
- Do we have to re-test half of Gears 3 depending on the Carmine vote?
- We wrap it all up with Chris’s ethereal journey into the two-hit combo of bacon and chocolate.

Nice podcast =) I’ve got a few Crackdown 2 tips of my own. The Renegade orbs: Get in a chopper, fly a bit high above the orb, jump out and land on it. Doesn’t matter if you die, still gets it. Stunt rings (two players): one fly a chopper and the other one puts a mag grenade on the car, and one underneath the chopper. Get in the car so that the one in the heli can fly the car through the rings =) (Was a bit proud when I thought of that). The car can also be picked up and thrown through the rings.
The Agency Tower rooftop race: Use a chopper. Trust me, it works. Way easier than actually running and jumping, though I almost made it without the chopper.
You were talking about the XBLA version of Plants vs Zombies. That actually contains both co-op where two players defend the house. Here one should play the defensive role, and the other more in offense. But wait, there’s more. It also has a versus mode that you mentioned. And yes, one gets to play as the zombies. Goal? Get inside the house and eat yo brain of course =D “Braaaiiins!” How awesome is that?
I got a request for you guys at PB, or anyone reading this. Could we set up a date and time where we join up in CD2 and get the squad city glider and party bus achievements? I would really appreciate that. Could also help with other cheevos as well if you guys need a hand. Bleep bloop!
My Gamertag’s KristofferLygre. Really cryptic, I know. Got you on my list Noonan, so maybe we could get down with the crack too? (See what I did there?) But I know you guys are busy so.
Anyways, great show once again. Keep on rockin’, and I’ll try and send in more questions either here or via Twitter. (I’m @Lygre there if you want to stalk me). Peace out, you all.
@Kristoffer Lygre: Good tips. I wonder if the helicopter/car sticky grenade trick works with someone surfing the car and getting the wingsuit rings? I hate those things. ;p I’ve got all but 4 achievements now: Doing al the Races, Doing all the Stunt Rings (over halfway there), Doing the Wingsuit rings, and finding all 25 deaths (I think I have 17). Always down for helping out in online games though. Will send you an invite on Live.
Question for Bex about lips; Is there away to port all the songs to the hdd of the console so each time you want to play a song of one disk you don’t have to stick it in a pull it out before and after singing each song ? I know theres the issue of disk sharing but cant you do some sort of one download of dlc per disk which is the same as whats included ? Also I can never seem to get multiple microphones working when one connects one drops, and the color status system is so confusing, other then that I’m loving the singing.
Second question, in terms of beta testing, for casual/hardcore gamers who aren’t in the industry is there any other way to get involved besides connect – which seems very quiet, i know theres multi player betas, but there more early access then bug/fault finding.
If you could drop a quick answer into the next pod-cast it would be great ! Thanks Robcheese101
Great show again guys, thanks for answering my questions
.
, can’t wait for that one:).
I think a Spoiler show is a great idea
Now that the summer of arcade is as good as over (it is probably over when you will record the next one), which one was the best one according to you?
A question not so much related perhaps to gaming, which action figures are in your office/cubicle? And does it help you motivate or is it more a distraction?
Guess what? I just got 1000/1000 gamerscore in Crackdown 2! Yeey. First game I get 100% in (except for XBLA), and I’ve had the 360 since launch. About time, don’t you think? I’ve got to thank Chris Chamberlain and a couple of his friends for helping me get the Party Bus and Squad City Glider achievements. Merci beaucoup.
I found every single orb but two hidden ones, so after a while looking for them I cheated a little bit by going to AchievementHunter.com. They have a nice interactive map of Pacific City with YouTube videos. Also looked on that to get the last eight or so Audio Files. Now here comes the funny part: I had died 24/25 ways. Had no clue what the last one was. Just for the heck of it we stacked up explosives. He injured me, then shot a barrel. BOOM! Achievement Unlocked and 1000/1000. Who would’ve thought that I hadn’t killed myself via explosives yet? It’s frikkin’ Crackdown. Stuff blows up all the time =P
So I think you guys should mention in the next podcast that I beat both Chris and John to a thousand points in CD2 =P
I was thinking about Gamescom which is this week in Germany. Have you guys ever been to Gamescom or any other big game show abroad? If so, what do you think about them? Been to E3 for business or for fun before? I think I would like Gamescom, and it’s not too far away from Oslo, Norway.
